Level 3 + Level 4 + Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care

The Level 3  Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification consists of 4 mandatory and 3 optional units for a combined total of 60 credits:

Mandatory units:

• An introduction to Health and Social Care (10 Credits)
• Communication for Health and Social Care (10 Credits)
• Promoting Health in the Population (10 Credits)
• Person – Centred Care (10 Credits)

Optional units: (Choose any Two)

• Understanding Diabetes Care (10 Credits)
• Understanding Stroke Care (10 Credits)
• Understanding Dementia Care (10 Credits)

The Level 4  Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits:

Mandatory units:

• Academic Study Skills (20 Credits)
• Communication for Health and Social Care (20 Credits)
• An Introduction to Healthcare Policy (20 Credits)
• Reflective Practice (20 Credits)
• Managing People in Health and Social Care (20 Credits)
• Sociology Concepts in Health and Ill Health (20 Credits)

The Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification consists of 5 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits:

Mandatory units:

• Principles Underpinning Health and Social Care (20 Credits)
• The Management of Quality in Health and Social Care (20 Credits)
• Research Project(40 Credits)
• Partnership working in Health and Social Care (20 Credits)
• Working with Service users with Complex Needs (20 Credits)

There would be Live Webinars which would be spread across the duration of the course.

Learning Outcomes – Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care

Below please find the learning outcomes for the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care:

1. The ability to read and use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding the ability to think independently and solve problems
2. Applying subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems
3. Recognising the moral and ethical issues of health and social care practice and research; appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct
4. An appreciation of the interdisciplinary nature of health and social care service provision
5. Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject, in a mature way and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists.
6. To develop transferable skills and knowledge.
7. To motivate individuals to progress to further professional development through future study or as part of their chosen career.

These are the overall learning outcomes in line with a Level 3 qualification.

Learning Outcomes – Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care

Below are the learning outcomes for the Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care:

1. Analysing, synthesising and summarising information critically
2. The ability to read and use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding the ability to think independently and solve problems
3. Applying subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems
4. Recognising the moral and ethical issues of health and social care practice and research; appreciating the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct.
5. An appreciation of the interdisciplinary nature of health and social care service provision
6. Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject, assemble arguments in a mature way and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists.
7. To develop transferable skills and knowledge.
8. Circumstances, whether within their own area of employment, or through promotion to a supervisory or management position, or to adapt to changes in the health/social care environment
9. To motivate individuals to progress to further professional development through future study or as part of their chosen career.

Learning Outcomes – Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care

Below are the learning outcomes for the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care:

1. The ability to read & use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding.
2. Apply subject knowledge and understanding to address familiar and unfamiliar problems.
3. Recognise the moral and ethical issues of health and social care practice.
4. Capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject & engage in debate.

This qualifications at RQF Level 5 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to

• Foundation Degrees,
• Higher National Diploma (HND) and
• Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree.

• Assessment is done via submission of Assignments
• There are no written exams

The qualification is awarded by Qualifi, UK – an Awarding body by the UK Government’s regulator – OfQual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation). All of the qualifications are listed on the OfQual register.
